Privacy notice

What we collect, why, where it goes and how long we keep it. Last updated 16 September 2026.

Zimbabwe Mines runs zimbabwemines.com. This notice explains how we handle personal information. Questions or requests: cedrick.mabhena@zimbabwemines.com.

What we collect

When you submit a lot

The “List a lot” form asks for the lot name, location, province, commodity, tenure class, area, grade, asking price, registration number, a contact email or phone number, and any notes you add. Depending on your browser, the form is either sent to us through our website host, Netlify, or opens a pre-filled email in your own email program. Either way the details reach our listings mailbox.

When you email us

We receive your email address, name and whatever you write.

Watchlist and saved searches

If you star lots or save a search on the register, that list is stored only in your own browser (local storage). It is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Visiting the site

  • Hosting. Netlify serves the site and, like any web server, processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
  • Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
  • Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, popular pages and referring sites. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

  • To assess a lot, check its paperwork, and decide whether to list it.
  • To reply to you and put buyers and sellers in touch about ground on the register.
  • To keep the site running, secure and useful.

What becomes public

If your lot is listed, its description, location, tenure class, area, grade and asking price are shown on the register. Your contact details are shown only if you tell us you want them published.

Who else sees it

Our website host (Netlify) and email provider store information on our behalf. We do not sell personal information. We share it with a prospective buyer or seller only as part of an enquiry you have asked us to take forward, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep lot submissions and related correspondence while a lot is being assessed or listed, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case questions arise about the listing. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; we will do so unless we need to keep something to deal with a dispute or a legal obligation.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by emailing cedrick.mabhena@zimbabwemines.com. We handle personal information in line with applicable data-protection law, including Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act.

Please don't send identity-document numbers, bank details or payment information through the form or by email. We never ask for them.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
