About Zimbabwe Mines
An independent desk for Zimbabwean mining news, sector numbers and a register of mining ground that is listed only after its paperwork has been checked.
Mining ground in Zimbabwe changes hands through WhatsApp groups and word of mouth. Too many sales fail on a boundary nobody walked, a lapsed inspection nobody checked or a transfer that never went through the Ministry. Zimbabwe Mines exists to make that market clearer.
What we do
- News with sources. Every story is dated, charted and links to the reports and data it relies on — the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, Fidelity Gold Refinery, the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ), the Chamber of Mines and the sector press.
- A register of tenure. Registered claims, mining leases, special grants and exclusive prospecting orders offered for sale or joint venture, filterable by commodity, province and tenure class.
- Practical guides. What each document in the chain of title proves, and what to check on gold, lithium, chrome and PGM ground before money moves.
How a lot gets onto the register
We work paperwork first, listing second. Before a lot is published we ask for three things:
- A certificate of registration, with the registration number and the 1:25,000 map reference it was issued against.
- A current inspection certificate, or production returns showing the ground is in good standing.
- A map reference and beacon positions that can be checked on the ground.
Each lot carries a paperwork label — Verified, Inspection due or Unverified — so buyers can see how far the checks went. Ground that cannot show all three documents is not listed.
A check is not a guarantee. Our checks reduce risk; they do not replace your own. Title must be confirmed with the relevant Provincial Mining Director before any money changes hands. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, and nothing here is investment, legal or mineral-title advice.
What we will never do
- Ask for identity-document, bank or payment details through this website.
- Publish a seller's contact details unless the seller has chosen to make them public.
- Present a figure without saying where it came from.
Corrections
If a figure, date or listing on the site is wrong, tell us at cedrick.mabhena@zimbabwemines.com and we will check it and correct it. Stories show the date they were published.
